No injuries in hard landing

Associated Press

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho – A single-engine airplane made a hard landing at the Idaho Falls Regional Airport, damaging the aircraft’s wings and spilling fuel that resulted in shutting down the runway for about 45 minutes.

The two Idaho Falls men in the Piper Cub that spun when it touched the runway were not injured in the mishap at about 6 p.m. Saturday.

Capt. Sam Villabisencio of the Idaho Falls Fire Department said it’s unclear what caused the pilot to lose control.
