Keough, Eskridge surge ahead

Two longtime North Idaho legislators are leading their tea party backed challengers in early returns. State Sen. Shawn Keough, R-Sandpoint, is leading Danielle Ahrens in the District 1 Republican primary, while Rep. George Eskridge, R-Dover, is ahead of challenger Pam Stout. Neither race is close at this hour: Eskridge leads Stout by 67 percent to 33 percent, while Keough is ahead of Ahrens by 71 percent to 29 percent.
