Went home to be with his Lord on May 10, 2012, at his home in Spokane Valley.
Al was born on January 12, 1933 in Magnolia, WI to Rev.
Alton J. and Lucile Crouse (both deceased).
Pastoral life took Al’s family to many cities from the Midwest to the West Coast.
He graduated from Lewiston High School in 1952 and attended Bob Jones University and Aurora College.
As a young adult he was very involved in Youth for Christ in the Lewiston area.
Al was very musically talented, participating in a college trumpet trio and a men’s quartet.
His penchant for drama was perfectly fitted to performing in a college production of Barabbas.
His outgoing personality and charisma lent well to his lifetime career in sales.
His passion to share the love of Christ with others took him from table to table in any given coffee shop.
Al loved his family, from holding the newest grandbaby to cheering one of his 12 grandkids on at their sports events.
He enjoyed bowling, woodworking, camping, and wheeling and dealing especially at yard sales.
Church was very important to Al, he and Elsie have been a part of the Berean Bible Church family for 34 years.
Al is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Elsie; former wife of seven years, Barbara Haynes of Spokane; children: Debbie (Dean) Bitz of Cheney; Steve (deceased) (Cheryl) of Lenore ID; Mike (Jan) of Spokane; Rev.
Kevin (Lisa) of Sydney, Australia; Denise of Arlington WA; and 14 grandchildren: Jeff, Dwayne, Kia, Andrew, Jake, Zachery, Matthew, Braedyn, Peter, Lucas, Payton, Marcus, Baylee and Malakai; sister, Ardie Stone Thomson (Bill) of Newport, WA; and five great-grandchildren.
