Obituary: Egger, Clyda R.

Clyda R.
(Maring)

Was born on August 12, 1921 in Spearfish, South Dakota to parents Mamie and Will Maring.

She graduated from Spearfish High School (The Spartans) in 1939.

Clyda attended Leotas Beauty School in Deadwood, and after finishing the course as a beautician, she returned to Spearfish.

In 1946, she met Thomas J. Egger.

She had traveled to Flint, Michigan to join him where they were married.

They traveled the United States, Tom and his crew selling magazines.

Because of that, Clyda was able to visit many cities up and down the eastern seaboard.

Eventually, they settled in Spokane in 1948.

In order to update her beauty license, Clyda attended Esther Greens School of Cosmetology in downtown Spokane.

She attended Spokane Community College from 1962 - 1963 taking business courses.

Clyda returned to work and finished her career as a manager at Edie Adams Cut and Curl.

Upon retirement, she and Tom traveled around the US and began wintering in Yuma, AZ.

They enjoyed the years in the summer, but missed holidays with their family.

Eventually, in 1991, they returned to year round residency in Spokane.

Clyda regularly attended the First Church of the Open Bible.

Dear to her heart, was her love of Jesus and the message she always shared was His gift of salvation.

Her greatest pride and joy was her family.

Clyda kept them in her prayers and hoped for all to be joined together in their Heavenly home.

She is preceded in death by her dear husband, Tom.

Clyda is survived by her daughter, Lynda Hayashi and her husband Art of Spokane; sons, Max Egger and his wife Debbie of Colville, and John Egger of Spokane; grandchildren, Greg Egger of Bellingham, David Egger of Spokane, Elizabeth Egger of Spokane, Marcy Egger of Oregon, Christy Egger of Spokane; two great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters; numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be sent to the Inland NW Chapter Alzheimer’s Association, 910 W. 5t Ave. Suite 256, Spokane, WA 99204 or to Hospice of Spokane, 121 S. Arthur, Spokane, WA 99202.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2012 beginning at 4:00PM at RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME, 4305 N. Division Spokane, WA 99207.

Private interment will precede the service.
