Betty Ferrier passed away peacefully in Huntington Beach, CA, after suffering a major stroke.

She is survived by her son Bruce; daughter-in-law Debbie; grandchildren Suzanne, Sharon, and Catherine; great-grandchildren Hailey and Alisa.

Husband Alex, oldest son Ron, infant son Richard and an unnamed infant son all preceded Betty’s passing.
Born Elizabeth Frances Mathieson in Vancouver, BC, Canada to Scottish immigrant parents Frank and Elizabeth Mathieson, moved to Los Angeles, CA when she was a young girl.

She graduated from Hamilton High School.

Afterwards, Betty competed in Scottish Highland dancing at the 1939 San Francisco Worlds Fair, where she met her soon to be husband, Alex.

Betty relocated to Vancouver, BC where she married Alex Ferrier in 1941.

After the war years, she moved to Yakima, WA, and resided on 34th St. Betty then moved to Culver City, CA, in 1958.

She then moved to Victorville, CA in 1984 and afterwards moved to Fountain Valley, CA in 1990, where she resided until her passing.


Betty was active in the United Scottish Society, Daughters of Scotia (Lady Cameron Lodge), Emblem Club, and The Red Hat Society.

Betty attended Beachpoint Church, Fountain Valley, CA.


Services at Forest Lawn, Covina Hills, CA, Friday, May 18 at 9:00 AM; visitation viewing May 17, 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
