Age 92


OPENSHAW, Glen A.

Near the end of the day on May 10, 2012, Glen A. Openshaw joined his Heavenly Father, while surrounded by family.
He was born October 13, 1919 in Phoenix, AZ.

He grew up in Billings, MT, where he graduated from high school.

He then joined the Army Air Force.

He retired from the Army in 1963, after 22 years of service.

On June 6, 1967 Glen married Virginia Barton of Spokane, WA.

They moved to Port Hueneme, CA, along with her four children.

There he worked for Kentron Hawaii Ltd. on the USS Wheeling, a missile tracking ship.

Also, under Civil Service at Point Mugu, CA, he worked as a radar operator.

He retired in 1988 after 41 total years of government service.

In 1996 Glen and Virginia moved to Post Falls, ID.

They visited many parts of this beautiful country by motor home, their sailboat, and cruises.

Virginia currently resides at the Waterford in Spokane.
Preceding him in death were his father, Fred Openshaw, his mother, Blanche Bohnet, his brother, Carl Openshaw (Anji), his half-brother, Fred H.C. Openshaw (Patty), and Marilyn Openshaw, mother of his surviving children, Robert G. Openshaw (Pam), Ronald D. Openshaw (Betty), and Susan D. Hatch (Denton).

Also surviving are Virginia, his wife of 45 years, his sister, Darlene Parker (Dr. Juel), 16 grandchildren, and many great-grands.
A memorial service will be held on May 22 at 2:00 pm at ENGLISH FUNERAL CHAPEL, located at 1700 Spokane St. in Post Falls, ID .
