Obituary: Crick, James K. Jr.

Age 96

CRICK,
James K. Jr.

Born February 21, 1916 in Boise, Idaho passed away peacefully on May 4, 2012 in Malo, Washington, where he was living with his daughter Molly.

He was preceded in death by his parents James and Mabel Crick, sisters Ruth and Georgia, his brother Bob, his son Kelly and his beloved wife Maria Crick.

He is survived by his four remaining children, daughter Molly, son Charles, daughter Estela and husband Brad, son Gregory and partner Kip.

He was the proud grandfather of nine, Jamie, Keegan, Kishli, Becky, Jessica, Serena, Colby, Casey and Chelsea and great-grandfather of seven, Cassidy, Nathanial, Madison, Tiernan, Rowan, Dylan, and Adriyana.

A graduate from the University of Washington he returned to Spokane “to become a specialist at moving dirt” in his family’s construction company.

In 1966 he wrote a poem to his parents, this passage describes the goals he set at an early age:

The boy grew up with a family so swell
His one ambition was to really do well
He wanted to show his mother so sweet
That all conditions she had taught him to meet,
He aimed to prove to his dad beyond doubt
That this son would give life one hell of a bout.

Our father loved people and truly enjoyed life to the fullest.

He certainly gave “life one hell of a bout” and will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
