of Life
A lifelong resident, farmer, and rancher of Wild Rose Prairie near Deer Park, Washington, passed away on Monday, May 14, 2012.
John is the dear husband of Charlotte Lorene Meschke Yingst and the loving father and father-in-law of David and Debra Yingst, Robert and Valerie Yingst, and George and Somnook Yingst, all of Deer Park.
His sister, Verna Yingst Wanger, resides in Spokane.
John enjoyed six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Born in 1920 on Wild Rose Prairie where he attended grade school, John graduated with the Class of 1938 from Deer Park High School.
During World War II, he served with the United States Army as a Radioman in the Aleutian Islands and the Philippines.
After the war, John was employed for many years at Deer Park Pine Industries.
His memberships include the Wild Rose Prairie United Methodist Church, Wild Rose Prairie Fire Department, 50 year member of Williams Valley Grange, A.O.U.W., Bethlehem Chapter 87, O.E.S., Valley of Spokane Scottish Rite, and a 60+ year member of Deer Park Masonic Lodge #134, F. & A.M. where he is a Past Master, and was Deputy of the Grand Master for District 30 from June 1984 to June 1986, and is a Past Worthy Patron, Bethlehem Chapter 87.
He is a life member of V.F.W.
Post #5924, Elk, WA, the National Rifle Association, and the Inland Empire Travelers Camping Club.
John was a former member of the El Katif Shrine.
Funeral Services honoring Mr. Yingst will be at 2:00 PM Monday, May 21, 2012, at the Wild Rose Prairie United Methodist Church with Rev.
Betty Smith officiating and the Scottish Rite Rose Croix Funeral Team participating.
Interment will be in the Wild Rose Prairie Cemetery with military honors and flag presentation by the United States Army and Washington National Guard.
Masonic Burial Rites will be by Mt.
Boyer Masonic Lodge #134, F. & A.M. A reception for all family and friends will be at Mt.
Boyer Masonic Lodge in Deer Park hosted by Bethlehem Chapter 87 following the services.
