Freshman Madi Naccarato hit two-run home run in the top of the seventh inning Saturday and Lakeside held on to beat Colville 7-5 in the 1A Bi-District championship in Colville.
The win gave the Eagles the top seed to the state tournament, which will be held next Friday and Saturday in Richland.
The Indians get the second seed to state.
Taylor Sheldon added two hits – including a double – and two RBIs for Lakeside.
Colville scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth to knot the game at 5 before Naccarato’s blast.
Lakeside whipped Chelan 21-3 in its first game of the day. Savannah Rolston went 4 for 4 and drove in three runs. Vanessa Ahrendt pitched in with a two-run home run.
In its next game, the Eagles got another four hits and three RBIs from Rolston in a 14-2 win over Cascade.
The Cascade (Leavenworth) Kodiaks scored 13 runs in the third inning and shut out the Newport Grizzlies 18-0 to take the third seed.
Newport, which fell to Okanogan in its first game of the day, was eliminated.
District 7 2B
Hannah Chaffin’s RBI double in the bottom of the ninth gave Northwest Christian a 9-8 win over Colfax in the district title game at the Merkel Complex in Spokane.
Hannah Hustad pitched the complete game for the Crusaders and struck out 14 batters without giving up a walk.
The win gave Northwest Christian the top seed to the state tournament. Colfax claimed the second seed.
Kettle Falls defeated Reardan 17-4 in a loser-out game that gave the Bulldogs the third state seed.
