Thunder top Lakers, take 3-1 series lead

NBA: Russell Westbrook scored 10 of his 37 points during a stirring fourth-quarter comeback, Kevin Durant added 31 points and hit the tiebreaking 3-pointer with 13.7 seconds left, and the Oklahoma City Thunder seized control of the second-round series with a 103-100 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 4 on Saturday night in Los Angeles.

Serge Ibaka scored 14 points for the second-seeded Thunder, who took a 3-1 series lead with Game 5 at home on Monday.

• Spurs take 3-0 lead: Tim Duncan scored 19 points, helping engineer a 24-0 run in the third quarter after the Spurs trailed by 24 points earlier, and San Antonio defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 96-86 in Los Angeles to take a 3-0 lead in their second-round playoff series.

Blake Griffin had 28 points and 16 rebounds for L.A.

Rangers blank Devils, take 2-1 series lead

Hockey: Henrik Lundqvist stopped all 36 shots, and Dan Girardi, Chris Kreider and Ryan Callahan scored third-period goals to lead the New York Rangers to a 3-0 win over the New Jersey Devils in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals in Newark, N.J.

The Rangers lead the series 2-1 with Game 4 Monday in N.J.

• Russia faces Slovakia in finals: Russia and Slovakia will meet in the world hockey championship final today in Helsinki for the first time since the Slovaks won their only title a decade ago against Russia.

After Evgeni Malkin scored a hat trick to lead Russia to a 6-2 rout of host Finland, Slovak forward Miroslav Satan scored twice to help beat the Czech Republic 3-1 in the second semi.

Dufner leads by one shot after 3 rounds

Golf: Jason Dufner shot a 1-under-par 69 to keep a one-stroke lead heading into the final round of the Byron Nelson Championship in Irving, Texas.

On a day when nine players had or shared the lead, Dufner was the one on top for the second day in a row. He was at 8-under 202.

Jason Day shot a 67, with his only bogey coming after missing a short putt on the 18th hole. He was a stroke back along with J.J. Henry and Dicky Pride. Henry also had a 67 and Pride shot a 69.

• Pressel in line to end drought: Morgan Pressel inched closer to her first LPGA Tour title since 2008, posting two very different victories to reach the semifinals of the Sybase Match Play Champion- ship in Gladstone, N.J.

Pressel rallied from 2-down with three holes to play to stun No. 2 ranked Na Yeon Choi in 19 holes in the morning and rolled over Anna Nordqvist of Sweden 5 and 4 in the afternoon quarterfinal.

Pressel will face former NCAA champion Azahara Munoz in the semifinals this morning, while American Vicky Hurst and Candie Kung will square off in the other match.

• McDowell advances: Northern Ireland’s Graeme McDowell advanced to the World Match Play Champion- ship semifinals when Spanish favorite Sergio Garcia missed a short par putt on the first extra hole in Casares, Spain.

McDowell will face Spain’s Rafael Cabrera-Bello.

Belgium’s Nicolas Colsaerts will play Scotland’s Paul Lawrie in the other semifinal.

Nadal, Sharapova reach Italian finals

Miscellany: Five-time champion Rafael Nadal overcame a difficult first set to beat fellow Spaniard David Ferrer 7-6 (6), 6-0 to reach the Italian Open final in Rome.

Nadal’s opponent today will be top-seeded Novak Djokovic, who beat Roger Federer 6-2, 7-6 (4).

In women’s play, Maria Sharapova defeated Germany’s Angelique Kerber 6-3, 6-4. The Russian will defend her title against China’s Li Na. Na advanced after Serena Williams withdrew shortly before their semifinal with a lower back injury.

• Amador wins stage: Andrey Amador won the 14th stage of the Giro d’Italia and Ryder Hesjedal took back the overall lead from Joaquin Rodriguez as the race took to the Alps in Cervinia, Italy.

• Gesink takes Tour of California lead: Dutchman Robert Gesink won the difficult seventh stage of the Tour of California in Mount Baldy, Calif., to take a 46-second lead in the overall standings into the largely ceremonial final leg.

• Via Villaggio wins Hollywood Stakes: Via Villaggio rallied in the stretch to catch huge favorite Sister Moon and win the $100,000 Railbird Stakes for 3-year-old fillies at Betfair Hollywood Park in Inglewood, Calif. Also, Include Me Out beat early leader Ellafitz by three-quarters of a length in the $150,000 Marjorie L. Everett Handicap, giving the 4-year-old filly her third straight victory.

• UFC star Jones charged: Police say UFC star Jon Jones was charged with DWI early Saturday after the car he was driving struck a utility pole in Binghamton, N.Y. Police say Jones was released to family members and was issued a ticket to appear at a later date.
