WETZLER, Sophia

Wetzler, Sophia (77) passed away Sunday, May 20, 2012 in Spokane WA.

Sophia was a “stay at home Mom” who sewed clothes for her girls and their Barbies.

When the girls were older and in high school she went to work for Safeco Insurance, from whom she retired.

Sophia also loved to knit and crochet making many doilies and afghans.

She was a good dancer, a pinochle player and loved to visit historical places in the motorhome with Joseph.

Sophia also liked to fish (ask Joseph who caught the biggest ones).

When she and Joseph were married in 1987 she took on a new persona, SoSo the Clown and loved entertaining.

Sophia is survived by her husband Joseph; daughters Lora (Brad) Kashuba and Cyndi (Giovanni) Luciano; mother Sophia Stanley; sister Frances (Neal) Thorstenson; step children Michael (Julia) Wetzler, Daniel (Mischone) Wetzler and Marina (David) Baranowitz; 4 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father Walter Stanley.

A visitation will be held prior to the Vigil from 6:00 pm till 6:45 pm.

Vigil service will be held Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 7:00 pm at St Mary Catholic Church 304 S. Adams Road.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday.

May 23 at 11:30 am at the Church.
