Lake City Playhouse stages ‘How to Succeed in Business’

Jett Bingman plays the role of J. Pierrepont Finch in the Lake City Playhouse production of “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,” which opens Friday in Coeur d’Alene.

In the 1960s, a young window washer named J. Pierrepont Finch arrives at the World Wide Wicket Building. Armed with advice he’s gleaned from the self-help book “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,” he’s hopeful he’ll land a job.

From there, Finch beings an astonishing climb up the corporate ladder, an ascent aided by duplicity, blackmail and a devoted secretary. This Tony- and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical takes the stage this weekend at Lake City Playhouse.

Directed by Andy Renfrew, the play features Jett Bingman as Finch, Emily Cleveland as the loyal Rosemary Pilkington, Kent Kimball as J.B. Biggley, Alex Eddy as Bud Frump and Brooke Wood as Hedy LaRue.
