CORDIER, George Harold
(August 20, 1929 -
May 21, 2012 )

Passed away at the age of 82 years.

He was born in Tenafly, New Jersey.

George proudly served in the Army, and reached the rank of Lieutenant at Fort Lewis, Washington.

He was married to Donna Lee Madsen in 1953.

He began a long career in the telephone industry in New York with New York Bell as an installer, and retired from Pacific Northwest Bell in 1984 as an outside plant engineering manager.

His residence at the time of his death was Seven Bays, Washington.

He is preceded in death by his eldest son, George Maurice Cordier.

He is survived by Donna, and his remaining three children: Cynthia L. Carter (Jim), William A. Cordier and Robert T. Cordier (Lisa) and daughter-in-law Lynne Cordier.

He is also survived by his six grandsons, one granddaughter and four great-grandchildren and his partner, Amelia Kvamme.

George enjoyed football, which he played at Tenafly High School and at Lehigh University.

He later coached Junior National Football in Spokane for several years.

He also enjoyed duck hunting and fishing especially near his home on Lake Roosevelt.

George was active in the Seven Bays Homeowner’s Association, and served on the board for many years, including a term as president.

A memorial for George will be held at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 9706 North Division St., Spokane, on Wednesday, May 30th at 3pm.
