Died May 23, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center, Dubuque, Iowa.


Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 25, in Queen of the Rosary Chapel, Sinsinawa, WI., followed with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Spokane, WA,, at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 2.

Sister Fidelis entered the Poor School sisters of St. Dominic of Speyer, Germany, in 1934.

She immigrated to the United States in 1937, joining the congregation members at Kettle Falls, Wash., and was naturalized in 1943.

The congregation members at Kettle Falls became the Dominican Sisters of Spokane in 1986.

Sister became a Sinsinawa Dominican when the Sinsinawa and Spokane Dominicans merged in 1995.


Sister Fidelis shared her gifts in many ways.

She studied 11 years and taught for 33 years at Immaculate Conception School, Oroville, WA.

; St. Mary Mission, Omak, WA.

; St. Margaret School, Cut Bank, MT.

; and in Spokane, WA., at St. Thomas More, and Assumption School, where she was principal/teacher.

Sister Fidelis ministered eight years as cook at Canon Hill Home for Boys, Spokane, and 13 years on staff at St. Joseph and Holy Family Hospitals.

The past seven years Sister enriched community life.
Sister Fidelis Weber, born in Kindsbach, Pfalz, Germany, October 5, 1920, to Maria Deppert and Joseph Weber, made her profession February 2, 1939.

Sister is survived by a brother, Alois Weber, Germany; nieces; nephews; and the Sinsinawa Dominicans with whom she shared life for 73 years.
Memorials may be made to Transitional Programs for Women or to the Sisters Memorial Plaza at Holy Cross Cemetery.
