Mr.

Chrisopher Johnson died May 23rd, 2012 at Spokane Veterans Home.

Chris was born November 30, 1924 in Spokane, was a lifelong resident and for the past 25 years wintered in Yuma, AZ.

Chris is survived by a wife, Patricia; three children, Randy Johnson, Christopher Johnson and Teresa Lewis; and three stepchildren, Kathleen Freeman, David Agnes and Gregory Agnes.

He also leaves behind eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Chris is a veteran of World War II in the North Africa and European Theaters.

His combat with the Army’s 101st Division started in Morocco and proceeded through Italy, and the invasion of Sicily.

After being wounded on the beaches of Normandy he served in France and was part of the liberation of concentration camps and the liberation of Germany.

He served in Europe through the end of the war.

Chris started his work life at age 14 parking cars under the old railroad trestle in downtown Spokane then worked in the family bakery equipment business and home construction business.

But, his real life passion was buying and selling cars which he did for many years in the Spokane area.

He graduated from John R. Rogers High School in 1943.

At different times Chris was a member of various Catholic parishes; St. Patrick’s, St. Francis Xavier, Assumption, St. Francis of Assisi, Our Lady of Lourdes, St. Charles, and St. John Neumann of Yuma.

For the past three years he and his wife, Pat, have been residents at The Academy.

We all loved this amazing man who left so many memories with everyone who knew him.

Chris, Dad, Pie, Grandpa, Poppy will be missed by all and always be in our hearts and memories.

Services will be held Tuesday, May 29th at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery at Medical Lake at 9:00AM followed by Memorial Mass at St Aloysius at 10:30AM, 330 E. Boone Spokane, WA.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Chris’ name would be appreciated to Spokane Union Gospel Mission.

Chris always remembered and took care of “the boys”.
