Introduction to Herbal Medicine Making (Part 1 of 3) – In this first class of the series, Becky Kemery and David Kirchlof of Medicine Circle Eco-Retreat will be covering the collection of spring herbs, the creation of an herb garden from seed and starts, how to make herbal teas, infusions and the herbal oils that are the base for salves and lotions. HealthFest Volunteers Needed – Community minded organizations throughout Kootenai County are teaming up to host the first annual HealthFest on June 9, 8 a.m.-4 p.m., at Kootenai County Fairgrounds, 4056 N. Government Way, Coeur d’Alene. Basic medical, dental and mental health services will be provided free of charge. Health education classes will also be offered throughout the day. Washington State University Memory Problem Study Participants Sought – Psychology researchers at Washington State University are seeking people with memory problems and their spouses or other family members to participate in treatment and intervention groups in Eastern Washington. The goal of the project is to help people maintain independence as long as possible, decrease caregiver burden and increase social support networks for both clients and their families or caregivers.
