Obituary: Swegle, Glen V.

Age 90

SWEGLE, Glen V. (1921-2012)

Glen passed away May 7, 2012 at his home in Spokane Valley after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

During his long illness, he never lost his witty sense of humor.

He was a kind, gentle and generous man.

He will be missed.
Glen was born July 4, 1921 in Walla Walla, WA.

His family moved to Cheney during the Depression.

He graduated from Cheney High School, then enlisted in the Marine Corps and served in the South Pacific.

When returning to the States, he attended the University of Washington where he met and married Marjorie Canup.

They made their home in San Jose, CA.

Marjorie was employed with Santa Clara County and Glen was an insurance broker.

Glen and Marge loved to fly in their Cessna.

Before he quit flying, Glen was the oldest licensed private pilot in California.
Glen was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Marjorie; by his sister, Verna; brother-in-law Bill McKinley; and twin brothers Dean and Dale.

He is survived by brother Wayne (Martha); sister-in-law Midge Swegle; sister Inez Malcolm (Jon); companion Ella Elliott and numerous nieces and nephews.

His friends and family wish to thank Hospice and many caregivers for their kind and loving care.

As was Glen’s wish, there will be no services.
