Big band salutes vets

Students in Shadle Park High School’s concert and jazz bands will honor members of the armed forces with “A Salute to Veterans” next Thursday in the school’s auditorium at 7 p.m.

The concert will feature music from the big-band era along with patriotic songs. The special event will close with the “Armed Forces Salute,” a piece that will feature songs from every branch of the armed forces. Veterans will receive a ribbon, and a reception will follow the concert.
