TELFER, George A.
Passed away November 1, 2012 in Spokane.
He was born July 2, 1922 in Toronto, Canada, grew up and was educated there.
In 1955 he moved to Spokane as controller at Pacific Northwest Alloys.
He served as financial officer for St. Luke’s Memorial Hospital from 1964 until1977 and as director of fiscal services for the provincial council of the Sisters of Providence from 1977 until his retirement in 1990.
He was a past president of the Washington Healthcare Financial Association, served on the Bishop of Spokane’s financial council, the Sisters of Providence development cabinet and other community boards and committees.
He was an active member of St. Francis of Assisi for many years.
He is survived by one sister, Margaret (Mrs. Donald) Foss of Ottawa, Canada.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Alberta (Stell) Landry Telfer.
Graveside inurnment will be Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 1pm and will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, 7200 N. Wall St., Spokane.
