Wildcats, Titans make State 1B volleyball

 

The Wilbur-Creston Wildcats and the Odessa-Harrington Titans advanced to the championship match of the District 7 1B volleyball tournament and both secured State 1B tourney berths along the way Thursday night.

The Wildcats breezed to 3-0 victories over the Inchelium Hornets and the Northeast 1B North regular-season champion Cusick Panthers during play in Cusick.

The Titans swept the Republic Tigers 3-0 to begin the day in Odessa and followed with a 3-0 sweep of the Northport Mustangs in the semifinals.

Wilbur-Creston and Odessa-Harrington square off for the 1-2 seeds to state on Saturday at 3 p.m. at Northwest Christian School.

Four teams are in the hunt for the third and final berth to the state tournament, next weekend in Yakima.

Inchelium takes on Northport at 11 a.m. Saturday at Northwest Christian, while Almira/Coulee- Hartline and Cusick square off at 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon in loser-out matches.

The two winners will play at 5 p.m. at Northwest Christian to decide the No. 3 seed to state.
