Montana State edges Sacramento State

Cody Kirk ran for 129 yards and two touchdowns, including a go-ahead 2-yarder in the fourth quarter, to lead Montana State (8-1, 5-1 Big Sky) to a 20-17 football victory over Sacramento State (6-4, 4-3) on Saturday night in Sacramento, Calif.

Northern Arizona 50, Idaho State 10: Covaughn DeBoskie-Johnson and Casey Jahn combined for 295 yards rushing and three scores to lead the Lumberjacks (8-1, 6-0) over the Bengals (1-8, 0-6) in Pocatello.

Montana 24, Weber State 21: Shay Smithwick-Hann’s 9-yard TD pass to Bryce Carver with 6:37 left carried the Grizzlies (5-5, 3-4) past the Wildcats (1-8, 1-5) in Ogden, Utah.

Northern Colorado 32, Portland State 28: Dominic Gunn helped the Bears (3-6, 2-4) rally from an 18-point third-quarter deficit with an 83-yard punt return for a TD and a 29-yard pass reception score to beat the Vikings (3-6, 2-4) in Portland.

North Dakota 33, Southern Utah 29: Jake Miller’s 36-yard TD run with 10:01 remaining sent North Dakota (5-5, 3-4) to a victory over the Thunderbirds (4-6, 3-4) in Grand Forks, N.D.
