Age 79


MARCUM,
George LeRoy

George LeRoy Marcum passed away October 27, 2012 at his home in Kettle Falls.

He was born on January 10, 1933 to Roy and Sadie Marcum in Almira, Washington.

He attended school in Almira, graduating in 1952.

Received an all sports scholarship to Humboldt College in California, only attended four months when he was drafted into the army.

Basic Training was at Fort Ord, CA.

He served two years; seventeen and a half months were in Germany.

He met Ann Miltner January, 1956 and married in June.

George worked for the Northern Pacific Railroad in Coulee City, Medical Lake and Spokane.

Moved to Kettle Falls in 1975 as the Burlington Northern Roadmaster.

He took early disability retirement in 1985.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Ann; sons: Marvin and wife, Lisa, Spokane; Fred, Kettle Falls, daughter, Angie Dyrland and husband Wally, Kettle Falls; eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, one step-grandson; brothers: Joe Marcum, Conrad, MT; Howard Marcum, Spokane, WA; sisters: Charlotte Bauman, Omak; Barbara Bauman, Spokane; Clara Coffman, Wilbur, WA and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother, brothers: Eugene Marcum and Kenneth Marcum and sisters: Bertha Brown and Thelma Marshall; daughter-in-law, Christie Marcum.

His most pleasurable moments in life were spent with his family.

At his request, no service will be held.
