Vote no on trapping

The reference made in the Idaho Voters’ Pamphlet on “Idaho voters will decide whether the state’s constitution should be amended to guarantee the right to hunt” is totally misleading.

The Idaho Legislature has placed a proposed constitutional amendment on the ballot this November (House Joint Resolution 2aa) to guarantee the right of Idahoans to hunt, fish and trap, forever. The right to hunt and fish is already protected.

While most people in Idaho are not opposed to hunting and fishing, many, including real hunters, are opposed to trapping because trapping is inhumane.

If you are an ethical hunter, if you are a fair sportsman and enjoy tracking your prey, then you know that hunting does not equal trapping.

Please vote no on HJR2aa.

Voting no on HJR2aa is not a vote against hunting or fishing. It is a vote against trapping and subjecting animals to a horrible, slow and painful death.
