Spokane County sheriff’s deputies tasered a man after he allegedly became violent when deputies checked up on him for disorderly behavior along Interstate 90. The man was later identified as 28-year-old Kortny Duback and deputies believe he was under the influence of some type of stimulant, says Spokane County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Craig Chamberlin. Police say deputies had been dealing with him for a couple of hours due to disorderly behavior. He was reportedly walking up and down the highway shoulder between the Argonne and Evergreen exit. He was stopped at the Evergreen exit for safety concerns and Chamberlin said it took several deputies to take him into custody after he became combative. Kortny allegedly refused to take his hands out of his pants and Deputy T. Jones ordered him to the ground at gunpoint. When another responding officer, Deputy D. Schaum attempted to handcuff him, Duback allegedly hit the deputy in the face. Deputies tasered Duback and took him into custody. He was booked into Spokane County Jail for felony third-degree assault, possession of methamphetamine and a misdemeanor charge of obstruction.
