Obituary: Hobbs, Charmion Jean

HOBBS,
Charmion
Jean “Charmy”
(Skarset)

Was born March 21, 1936 in Windom, MN to Dan and Alice (Rose) Skarset.

The family moved to Spokane in 1942.

Charmy attended Regal Grade School, graduated from Rogers High School and attended EWU for a year.

She worked for a time as a receptionist for a doctor’s office and also in the accounting department of the Old National Bank.

On August 30, 1957, Charmy married her loving husband of over 55 years, Fred R. Hobbs.

Charmy became a “stay at home mom” when their children were born, which she enjoyed very much.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, James and Ronald; and her sister, Judith.

Charmy is survived by her husband, Fred; daughter, Kimberly Kay (Richard) Moorhead; son, Mark Hobbs; grandsons, Stephen Moorhead, Geoff Moorhead, Skylar Moorhead; granddaughter, Taryn Moorhead; several nieces and nephews; two dogs; and a cat.

As a result of a fall, Charmy had some on-going medical problems that worsened, doing a great deal of damage to her left arm.

Charmy was a very cheerful person, she loved the outdoors, but the light of her life was her grandchildren.

For the past 25 years, her favorite activity was spending time at the lake.

A memorial service has been planned for late December, 2012 to accommodate out-of-town relatives.

“We all miss her very much” .
