Police seek woman suspected of Spokane Valley shooting

Crystal L. Abad, 24
A shooting victim has non-life threatening injuries after a female acquaintance reportedly robbed him and shot him in the shoulder. Crystal Abad, 24, is suspected of the shooting in Spokane Valley near South Bates Drive and Bates Court on Sunday around 11:40 a.m., a Spokane County Sheriff’s Office news release said. Police say Abad asked to borrow money from the victim and met up with him at the area of 10th Avenue and Pines Road. The victim had the money in his hands when Abad grabbed it and jumped into her Jeep and was driven away by an unidentified male driver, the news release said. The victim followed them in another vehicle, calling her on her cell phone and telling her to pull over, the release said. When the car stopped, both parties got out of their vehicles and Abad allegedly pulled out a small handgun and shot the victim. Police say Abad and the driver left the scene. She was last seen as a passenger in a early 2000s gold Jeep Cherokee or Laredo with a possibly broken rear tail light patched with red tape. Detectives are asking for the public’s help to find Abad and her unidentified male driver. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Check at (509) 456-2233.
