Virginia would like to use the spotlight of a Thursday night game to show the Cavaliers really are on their way up, even if their record suggests otherwise. The Cavaliers (4-6, 2-4 ACC) host North Carolina tonight ( 4:30 p.m., ESPN). The Tar Heels are hoping to play the role of spoiler and end Virginia’s late-season, win-or-else drive to become bowl eligible. Virginia has won two in a row after a six-game losing streak.
