Obituary: Meyer, Patricia Anne

MEYER, Patricia Anne (Age 85) Patricia Anne (Bair) Meyer was born on August 11, 1927 in Davenport to George and Mary Ellen (Holland) Bair and died on November 12th in Kent, WA., surrounded by her family.

She made her home in Harrington, WA.

She lost her parents early in her life and left Davenport to live in Spokane with her sister, Georgia Watson.

She attended North Central High School and finally Cheney High School where she graduated in 1945.

In September of 1945 she married the love of her life Victor Carl Meyer of Espanola in Missoula, Montana.

To this union of 61 years was born three daughters, Victoria Carol Knapp (Jim) of Harrington, Kathryn Jo Thompson, and Jennifer Anne Ruthruff (Dave) both of Kent, WA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Georgia Watson, and son-in-law Richard Thompson.

She is survived by her daughters, grandchildren: Jay Knapp (Susana) of Bellevue, WA., Amy Knapp/ Rosson (Bob) Portland, OR., Thad Thompson (Emily)of Edgewood, WA., and Heather Talkington/Slack (Justin) of Kent, WA.

and Kati Ruthruff of Seattle, WA.

As well as her great-grandchildren Jayson and Sophia Knapp, Michael, Matthew, Zachary, and Abigail Rosson, Murphey and Teagan Thompson, and Caroline and Turner Slack.

Patt worked for the Harrington School District and later for the Department of Social Services in Davenport.

She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, St. Clare Altar Society and the Library board all in Harrington.

In 2010 she was chosen as Citizen of the Year in Harrington for her contribution to her community.

She had a very kind heart and dedicated her life to family, friends, and the church.

She was active with Senior Meals, Food Bank, and the State of Washington Employees Retirement.

Patt loved her Irish Heritage, being with family, baking cookies, and spending winters in Hawaii.

Her home was filled with a collection of bunnies given to her by friends and family throughout the years.

Rosary will be Friday, November 16 at 7:00 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Harrington and Memorial Mass at 11:00 November 17 also at St. Francis.

Father Pat McMahon is Officiating.

There will be a luncheon served at the Memorial Hall following the services.
