First Church of Christ, Scientist – Yearly Thanksgiving service will be offered at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church, 310 E. 14th Ave. It includes a Bible lesson, the national Thanksgiving Day Proclamation, prayer, hymns and words of gratitude from the congregation. (509) 624-1637.

Inspirational movie, discussion

Global Day of Jewish Learning – Temple Beth Shalom, 1322 E. 30th Ave., will present “Let My People Know,” as part of the Global Day of Jewish Learning on Sunday. Children’s storytelling will begin at 9:45 a.m.; Rabbi Henry Glazer will speak on the topic “Translating Blessings to Everyday Life” at 10 a.m.; there will be children’s activities at 10:15 a.m.; a kosher lunch at 12:15 p.m. for $3; and “The Spirit of Blessing in Community Activities” with art, music, song and dance at 1 p.m. Admission is free for members of Temple Beth Shalom, Congregation Emanu-el and college students.
