Obituary: Krupke, Murtis

KRUPKE, Murtis (Age 99) Passed away on November 12, 2012 in Spokane, WA.

Murtis is survived and greatly missed by her son and daughter-in-law, Leslie and Judy Krupke of Richland, WA, daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Rob Liljenberg of Port Ludlow, WA; five grandchildren, Dawn Krupke, Matt Krupke, Shelley Ripley, Shannon Depew, and Shawna Coan; and five great-grandchildren, Zachary Wright, Trent Ripley, Jenna Depew, Erika Depew and Kennedy Coan.

Murtis was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, Earl Krupke; her parents, Samuel and Caroline Jackson; her five brothers and sisters, Volita Livingstone, Jess Jackson, Samuel Jackson, Leland Jackson, and Beth Guy.

Murtis was born in Tracyton, WA in 1913.

Murtis grew up in Post Falls, ID and in the Davenport-Mondovi-Reardan area.

She graduated from Reardan High School in 1931.

Murtis and Earl farmed in Mondovi for 60+ years.

Murtis was a lifelong member of the Reardan United Methodist Church, formerly known as the Evangelical United Brethern Church.

Prior to moving to Spokane in 1979, Murtis was an active member of the Spring Creek Grange.

Murtis and Earl were also active members of the WA Wheat Association.

Funeral services for Murtis will be held Tuesday, November 20th at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Strate Funeral Home in Davenport, WA, Pastor Carolyn Krupke officiating.

Concluding services, vault interment will be at the Reardan Cemetery.
