No. 2 Kansas St. falls victim to Baylor

Glasco Martin ran for three touchdowns, Lache Seastrunk had 185 yards rushing with an 80-yard score and Baylor again upset the BCS picture with a late-season victory, beating second-ranked Kansas State 52-24 Saturday night in Waco, Texas.

A week after the Wildcats (10-1, 7-1 Big 12) took over the No. 1 spot in the BCS standings following Alabama’s loss, another team will get its chance on top. And undefeated Notre Dame could get its championship shot.

K-State quarterback Collin Klein may be a Heisman Trophy front-runner no more after throwing three interceptions while being pressured and harassed all night by Baylor (5-5, 2-5). He threw for 286 yards, but had only 39 yards on 17 carries.

(3) Notre Dame 38, Wake Forest 0: Everett Golson threw touchdown passes of 50, 34 and 2 yards in the first half, Cierre Wood scored on a 68-yard run and the third-ranked Fighting Irish (11-0) beat the Demon Deacons (5-6) to finish the season undefeated at home in South Bend, Ind., for the first time since 1998.

(4) Alabama 49, W. Carolina 0: Eddie Lacy rushed for three first-half touchdowns, AJ McCarron set Alabama’s single-season record for passing TDs (21) and the fourth-ranked Crimson Tide (10-1) routed the Catamounts (1-10) in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

(5) Georgia 45, Georgia Southern 14: Aaron Murray threw four touchdown passes, Todd Gurley became only the second true freshman in Georgia history to rush for 1,000 yards, and the No. 5 Bulldogs (10-1) bounced back from a sluggish start to blow out the Eagles (8-3) in Athens, Ga.

(6) Ohio St. 21, Wisconsin 14 (OT): Carlos Hyde scored on a 2-yard run in overtime, giving the No. 6 Buckeyes (11-0, 7-0 Big Ten) a victory over the Badgers (7-4, 4-3) and keeping the Buckeyes’ hopes of a perfect season alive. Wisconsin’s Montee Ball scored his 78th touchdown, tying Travis Prentice’s major-college record for career scores.

(7) Florida 23, Jacksonville St. 0: The Gators (10-1) used a strong defensive effort to overcome a sluggish offensive performance in a win over the Gamecocks. The Gators scored a touchdown on their first possession when Mike Gillislee plowed into the end zone from seven yards out.

(8) LSU 41, Ole Miss 35: Jeremy Hill scored his third touchdown with 15 seconds left to lift the No. 8 Tigers (9-2, 5-2 SEC) to a victory over relentless but mistake-prone Rebels (5-6, 2-5) in Baton Rouge, La.

(9) Texas A&M 47, Sam Houston St. 28: Johnny Manziel threw for 267 yards and three TDs, and ran for 100 yards and two more scores in a bit more than a half as the No. 9 Aggies (9-2) beat the Bearkats (8-3) in College Station, Texas.

(10) Florida St. 41, Maryland 14: Devonta Freeman ran for 148 yards and two touchdowns, Florida State’s top-ranked defense lived up to its billing and the No. 10 Seminoles (10-1, 7-1 ACC) rolled past the Terrapins (4-7, 2-5) in College Park, Md., to earn a spot in the Atlantic Coast Conference championship game.

(11) Clemson 62, N. Carolina St. 48: Tajh Boyd threw for five touchdowns and ran for three more scores to lead the No. 11 Tigers (10-1, 7-1 ACC) to a record-shattering win over North Carolina State (6-5, 3-4) in Clemson, S.C. The Tigers gained 754 yards, two off the school record.

(12) S. Carolina 24, Wofford 7: Kenny Miles rushed for 127 yards and a touchdown and the No. 12 Gamecocks (9-2) pulled out a closer-than-expected win over the Terriers (8-3) in Columbia, S.C.

(13) Oklahoma 50, West Virginia 49: Landry Jones threw six touchdown passes, including a 5-yarder to Kenny Stills with 24 seconds left, to lift the No. 13 Sooners (8-2, 6-1 Big 12) to one wild win over the Mountaineers (5-5, 2-5) in Morgantown, W. Va.

(16) Nebraska 38, Minnesota 14: Taylor Martinez threw for 308 yards and two touchdowns to Kenny Bell while becoming No. 16 Nebraska’s all-time passing leader in a victory over the Gophers (6-5, 2-5 Big Ten) in Lincoln, Neb. The Cornhuskers (9-2, 6-1) scored on four of their first six possessions.

(22) Rutgers 10, Cincinnati 3: Savon Huggins ran for a career-high 179 yards, and the Scarlet Knights’ defense had another shut-down showing in a victory over the Bearcats (7-3, 3-2 Big East) that kept the 22nd-ranked Rutgers (9-1, 5-0) in control of the Big East.

(23) Michigan 42, Iowa 17: Devin Gardner accounted for six touchdowns to help the No. 23 Wolverines (8-3, 6-1 Big Ten) rout the Hawkeyes (4-7, 2-5) in Ann Arbor, Mich.

Oklahoma St. 59, (23) Texas Tech 21: Isaiah Anderson had a career-best 174 yards receiving and caught three long touchdown passes from Clint Chelf in his final home game, leading the Cowboys to a win against the No. 23 Red Raiders in Stillwater, Okla.

(25) Kent St. 31, Bowling Green 24: Dri Archer had two long touchdown runs and finished with 241 yards rushing, leading the No. 25 Golden Flashes (10-1, 7-0 MAC) to a victory over the Falcons (7-4, 5-2) in Bowling Green, Ohio, and the school’s first Mid-American Conference title game.
