Obituary: Miles, Myrtle Lillian

Age 90

MILES, Myrtle Lillian (Prader/Elsom) On November 7, 2012 we lost our Mother, Grandmother and Friend.

Myrtle died peacefully in Spokane, WA at the age of 90.

She was born May 1, 1922 in Spokane to Edwin and Esther Prader and was their only child.

Myrtle went to a one room grade school in Long Lake, WA and graduated from North Central High School in Spokane in 1939.

She attended two years of college at Eastern Washington Normal School (EWU) in Cheney, WA.

In 1941 she married Sam Wesley Elsom, Myrtle was a homemaker as they moved from Spokane to Los Angeles, CA to Hungry Horse, MT, always returning to Spokane.

Sam died in 1957 in a mining accident in Sitka, Alaska.

In 1961 she married George L. Miles and moved from Spokane to Navato, CA to Spokane to Ritzville and then returned back to Spokane.

Myrtle was preceded in death by her husbands Sam W. Elsom and George L. Miles, her daughter, Sandra Sue Price (Elsom), grandson, Sam E “Skip” Elsom II and daughter-in-law, Joanne L. Elsom.

She is survived by her sons, Sam (Jo) Elsom, Newport, WA, Delle (Jacque) Elsom, Deer Park, WA, Ross (Linda) Elsom, Kingston, WA, Kim (Valerie) Elsom, Rohnert Park, CA, Link (Sheri) Miles, Spokane, WA; daughter, Kathy (Steve) Neiffer, Spokane Valley, WA; 20 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Myrtle was baptized October 27, 1951 as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

She faithfully served her God Jehovah for 60 years and looked forward to the fulfillment of Revelation 21:4.

A memorial will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2012, at 2:00PM at the Opportunity/University Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, located at 1802 N. Raymond Rd, Spokane Valley, WA.

The family wishes to thank everyone at Regency at Northpointe, especially Sherry, Diana, Jeff and Brandi, for the loving care given to our mother.

Thank you Mom for protecting us from the bears in Montana.
