TORRANCE, Calif. (AP) — The coroner has released the names of two women shot to death by an elderly resident who then killed himself at a Southern California senior citizens’ high-rise.

Los Angeles County coroner’s spokesman Ed Winter says autopsies are planned Wednesday on the bodies of 54-year-old Charlie Vanhager and 53-year-old Maria Leon.

The women were shot to death Tuesday at the Golden West Tower in Torrance. Investigators say the gunman, who was in his 80s, then committed suicide.

Winter says the shooter’s name is being withheld until relatives can be located, which he expects will be sometime Wednesday afternoon.
