Kathleen Coleman will become sales and marketing director of S-R Media/The Spokesman-Review on Jan. 1, Publisher Stacey Cowles announced Wednesday.
Coleman will succeed Dan Johnson, who is leaving to join a Phoenix-based newspaper service business.
Currently the news organization’s director of digital business operations and new product development, Coleman joined The Spokesman-Review in 1997 as Lifestyles editor. She became director of digital business operations in 2007, where she oversaw the development of niche print and online content such as KissTheBrideNW.com, DownToEarthNW.com and most recently LiveWell, a joint project of the marketing and editorial departments.
Coleman is the immediate past president of the North American division of the International Newspaper Marketing Association and is a member of that organization’s international board.
Said Cowles in a news release, “We’ve had a great run with Dan and I am very sorry we couldn’t hold on to him, but I’m very excited to have Kathleen step up to the opportunity.”
