Halloween candy from area going to troops

The staff of KiDDS Dental in Liberty Lake spent the day after Halloween collecting bags of candy from children to be sent to soldiers serving overseas.

As part of the Great Candy Buy Back, children were paid $1 for each pound of candy and given a dental goody bag and coupons from local businesses.

The dental office collected 1,130 pounds of candy and added 895 toothbrushes and 301 tubes of toothpaste to the shipment to Operation Gratitude for distribution overseas.

Families that dropped off candy were also invited to write a letter to a soldier to go along with the candy.
