Obituary: Olsen, James Philip

Age 71

OLSEN, James Philip (Age 71) Jim was born December 5, 1940 in Spokane, WA to Philip and Irma Olsen.

He passed away November 9, 2012 in Boise, ID.

He attended EWU, North Idaho Junior College and S.C.C.

Jim served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1962-1981 and retired from the City of Spokane Traffic Engineering on January 2, 1992.

On that day the city of Spokane declared January 2nd Jim Olsen day.

Jim loved to travel, play golf, tennis, bowling and gambling.

He was a member of the Sons of Norway, Eagles and the American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Irma Olsen.

Jim is survived by two daughters, Anna Olsen and Kristen Olsen-Vitale and his step-daughter Renee Grandinetti; grandchildren, Mercedes, Brennick, and Nathan Vitale; two step-grandchildren, Josh and Justin Grandinetti; and three siblings, Phylis Campbell, Richard Olsen and Jerome Olsen.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 30, 2012 at 1:00PM at the Riverside Mausoleum just inside the gates of Riverside Memorial Park, 508 N. Government Way in Spokane.
