Tax corporations like people

The fiscal cliff is coming, and we have been bombarded about Citizens United, and with Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney saying, “corporations are people, too,” so it begs the question: If corporations are people, then why not treat them as people?

Take out your pay stub, look at the deductions that are taken out of your paycheck, and ask yourself if corporations have to pay them. Take a look at your 401(k), your IRAs and your stock portfolio, and ask yourself why the money you invested in corporations isn’t paying off.

The answer is that the multinational corporations are sitting on approximately $1.5 trillion in overseas profits that they are not bringing back to their stockholders because they want the taxes on that profit lowered from 35 percent to 10 percent.

If you do not pay your taxes, you have liens slapped against your property, judgments go against you, and sometimes you are put in jail for not paying your taxes. Why should corporations be any different?

Hit those multinational corporations with liens on their property, judgments, some jail time, and do not allow them to do business anymore.

Workers and mom/pop small business owners, think about it.
