Fla. jail: ‘security concern’ over NH pair’s case

Associated Press Associated Press

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — A Florida jail is not saying anything about plans to transport a New Hampshire couple back home because of security concerns after they were arrested for allegedly beating and burning the woman’s 3-year-old son.

Police took 23-year-old Jessica Linscott and her boyfriend, 27-year-old Roland Dow, into custody Wednesday evening at the Universal Studios theme park in Orlando. They were wanted on warrants from New Hampshire.

A spokesman for the Orange County jail said they would not release any information about transportation plans for the couple, who face extradition. The spokesman did not elaborate on the security concerns.

Dow is charged with first- and second-degree assault. Linscott is charged with multiple counts of child endangerment.

Police say the boy’s condition is improving but that his recovery will be long and difficult.
