Jim married Joyce Brooks in 1950.
Together, they raised three girls in the Spokane Valley.
Jim worked for the Spokane Valley Fire Dept.
District 1 for 23 years until he retired as a Battalion Chief in 1982.
He enjoyed his work and loved spending time with family and friends.
Jim is survived by his wife Joyce; three daughters and their husbands, Sandi and Gordy Oberst, Kathi and Denny Lydeen, and Cheri and John Warren; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial celebrating Jim’s life will be Friday, November 30th from 1-3 p.m. at the Valley Eagles.
The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Spokane Valley Fire Department Employees Scholarship Fund.
