IEL to offer history classes for seniors

SPOKANE COUNTY – Area seniors will have an opportunity to step back in time with upcoming history classes available at the Institute for Extended Learning seniors program.

Study guitar with John Paul Shields

WEST HILLS – Holy Names Music Center, 3910 W. Custer Drive, will bring guitar instructor, performer and composer John Paul Shields to Spokane Oct. 11 through Dec. 6, to teach guitar enthusiasts.

Shields is a graduate of the University of Washington classical guitar program and performs all genres of music, from solo to ensembles of all types and sizes, including classical, Latin, jazz, rock and folk.

Classes are Thursdays from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Cost is $90 per person.

Natural Living Show will be Oct. 13

CHIEF GARRY PARK – The Natural Living Show will be at Spokane Community College, 1810 N. Greene St., in the Lair Oct. 13, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The show will feature natural body treatments and natural wellness vendors.

Admission to the event is free to visitors who donate one used, clean, cotton bed sheet of any size to be recycled into reusable bandages for hospitals in Congo. The sheet must be free of paint stains.
