Romney tramples oath

There is new credible information that, if elected, Gov. Romney’s advisers are advocating the immoral and illegal processes of torture in interrogation of enemy combatants implemented by Bush/Cheney. Having served 1968-’74 as a captain in the U.S Army as a non-drafted/volunteer officer, I feel compelled to speak.

Our oath of office for the Army is the same as the one for president and City Council of Spokane. That oath is to defend the Constitution. Period. The UMCJ (Universal Military Code of Justice) Geneva Conventions rules of war is the handbook that President Obama adheres to as an executive order for treatment of prisoners, after the Bush/Cheney fiasco.

The simple fact that Gov. Romney and his advisers would readily pitch the oath of office into a very deep ditch precludes any armed service member’s support. Please consider your constitutional rights when making your vote.
