DeVito, Perlman are calling it quits

From Wire Reports

Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman are breaking up.

A spokesman for DeVito says they are separating after 30 years of marriage.

DeVito and Perlman married in 1982 and have three adult children. The couple worked together on TV’s “Taxi” from 1978 to 1982.

Together, the couple established the production company Jersey Films, which counts “Pulp Fiction,” “Erin Brockovich” and “Out of Sight” among its credits.

Lehrer defends debate performance

Jim Lehrer said he accomplished precisely what he wanted while moderating the first presidential debate: He got Mitt Romney and Barack Obama to talk to each other.

The former PBS anchor took heavy flak on social media for his light hand during Wednesday’s debate. He asked general, open-ended questions and let the candidates go at it.

Lehrer said in an interview that it was a conscious effort to encourage a different kind of debate, one he said Monday will be looked back upon as a watershed.

The 25-year-old star is known for such hits as “TiK ToK,” “Your Love Is My Drug,” “We R Who We R” and “Die Young.”

Blaine ends electrifying stunt

Daredevil David Blaine has finished what could be called his most electrifying stunt.

The magician emerged Monday night after spending three days and three nights standing in the middle of 1 million volts of electric currents at New York’s Pier 54.

A spokesman said Blaine was able to walk with assistance, speak and kiss fiancee Alizee Guinochet before being taken to a hospital to be examined.

The 39-year-old Blaine wore a chainmail bodysuit as a barrier between himself and the currents, emitted by Tesla coils.
