Obituary: Anderson, Elizabeth E.

ANDERSON,
Elizabeth E.
(Age 88)

Elizabeth E. “Betty” Anderson went peacefully to be with the Lord in her home on Wednesday, October 3, 2012.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Arthur “Andy” Anderson, in December 2000.

Elizabeth
is survived by her son, Daniel Paul Anderson (and wife Maria) and her daughter, Kristine Mary Tew (and husband Ralph) and her grand- children Heidi and Kelsey Anderson and Justin Tew.

Betty was always known for helping others and cared very little about money or earthly possessions.

She worked for a short time as a switchboard operator/ messenger at the Great Northern railroad and liked going to the racetracks to watch the horses run.

Betty served in her church, Hillyard Baptist for many years and also volunteered at Bemiss Elementary.

She was a voracious reader, enjoyed writing poetry and solving word puzzles from the newspaper, especially cryptograms.

She surprised us all when she decided to pursue getting a drivers license just before her 60th birthday.

Betty was a simple woman who enjoyed a simple life.

The family would like to thank Gary Lee for making it possible for Betty to remain in her home by caring for her these last years of her life.

A memorial service will be held at Hillyard Baptist Church on Sunday, October 21, at 3:00 p.m.

Please visit Betty’s online memorial and leave a message of condolence at www.hennesseyfuneralhomes.com
