Dorothy “Dottie” Pruitt passed away at home Saturday, October 6th.

She was born April 21, 1928 to John and Ellen Berglund in Moscow, ID.

The youngest of four children, she was raised on the family farm outside Moscow.

She graduated from St. Luke’s School of Nursing in Spokane, WA, which is where she began her nursing career.

It was also in Spokane where she met Billy Pruitt through mutual friends.

They were married shortly thereafter in 1956 and spent the next 17 years living throughout the US and Europe during his Air Force career.

During this time, their daughter, Ellen and son, Brad were born.

After returning to Spokane in 1973, she resumed her career, working at St. Luke’s Hospital as an operating room nurse until retirement.

Dottie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She most loved time spent with family at home or traveling.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Billy Pruitt; her daughter Ellen (Peter) Fasano; her son Brad Pruitt; and her four grandchildren Nicholas and Michael Fasano and William and Emma Pruitt.

Funeral services will be held at Central Lutheran Church, 512 South Bernard Street, Spokane WA on October 12th at 11:00 AM.
