Heartsongs from the Edge of the World – Seventh annual concert showcasing the Voiceless Choir, a group of previously homeless families and provides funds for gas vouchers and food for their practices. Spokane is Reading with Chris Cleave - 11th annual event with author Cleave and his book “Little Bee.” Two readings: 1 p.m. at Garland Theater and 7 p.m. at Lincoln Center. No tickets are issued for either presentation and seating is first-come, first-served. Walk to Defeat ALS - Check-in at 10 a.m.; walk starts at 11 a.m. The Spokane Walk to Defeat ALS, now in its eighth year, benefits the ALS Association Evergreen Chapter. Kids Used Book Drive - Spark NW, a nonprofit focused on inspiring kids to volunteer, is gathering gently used books in support of the KHQ used book drive. Bring children’s books with no marks or tears in them to the library meeting room between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. for book sorting, reading and fun with literacy games.
