YWCA women’s lunch Oct. 25

From Staff Reports

Tickets are available for the 30th annual Women of Achievement Benefit Luncheon on Oct. 25.

Naomi Tutu, daughter of Archbishop Desmond Tutu, will speak at the luncheon.

The event will honor six local women who excel in their field of expertise and whose achievements have influenced the community.

It’s also a fundraiser, representing a “vital source of funding” for the Spokane YWCA’s programs and services, Executive Director Trish McFarland said in a news release. The YWCA offers services for domestic-violence survivors, job-skills and job-search programs for women, individual and family counseling, and educational groups for mothers, among other programs.

“Our work continues because of the generosity of the community, and we need that support more than ever these days,” McFarland said.

The luncheon will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 25 at the Spokane Convention Center Ballrooms, 334 W. Spokane Falls Blvd. Tickets are available for a $125 donation, which can be paid in increments throughout the year.
