Vehicle crash injures two near Sagle

A Sandpoint man is in critical condition after he was involved in a vehicle crash early this morning near Sagle, Idaho. Karl F. Hyder, 19, was driving his 1989 Honda Civic north on the 1500 block of Lignite Road around 1:30 a.m. when he went off the road and hit a tree. Neither Hyder nor his passenger, a 17-year-old boy from Sandpoint, was wearing a seat belt, the Idaho State Police said in a news release. Hyder was taken to Kootenai Medical Center. His passenger is in stable condition at Bonner General Hospital, according to the Bonner County Sheriff’s Office.
