Quiet week for Liberty Lake police

Things settled down a bit in Liberty Lake the week of Oct. 8-15, but police officers still responded to a wide variety of calls.

A man called police the afternoon of Oct. 8 to report that he left his debit card in the drive-thru ATM in the 2200 block of North Madson Road, but the card was gone when he returned. He canceled the card, which someone apparently tried to use at a gas station at Sprague Avenue and Argonne Road in Spokane Valley, said Liberty Lake Police Chief Brian Asmus. The case is under investigation.

A woman was arrested for fourth-degree domestic violence assault at 5:30 a.m. Oct. 9 in the 19000 block of East Nora Avenue. A struggle had been heard over the phone and the woman allegedly pushed a man, Asmus said.

A caller told police that young boys were driving golf carts in circles in the road at Molter Road and Sprague Avenue at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 10. Officers spotted the boys and followed them home, Asmus said. The officers spoke to their parents.

A two-car accident was reported at Country Vista Drive and Liberty Lake Road at 8 a.m. on Oct. 11. The driver who caused the accident reportedly told police that he may have fallen asleep at the wheel, Asmus said. He was charged with negligent driving.

A man reportedly drove his car away from a local car dealership without paying for repairs Friday. Police were called to the 21500 block of East George Gee Avenue, where employees told police that the man owed $550 for repairs. He allegedly used a spare set of keys to drive away after he said he had to get his checkbook from the car, Asmus said. Police have made several attempts to contact the man.

Police recovered a Black Diamond mountain bike from a field near the 1700 block of North Holl Boulevard on Oct. 10. A vehicle prowl was reported in the 22800 block of East Country Vista Drive on Friday. A resident reported that someone had taken tools and tool boxes from the bed of his pickup truck.

Officers made three arrests for driving with a suspended license during the week. They handed out two citations for speeding. Additional citations were given for license and plates required, driving without a license with identification, failure to show proof of liability insurance, defective brake light/turn signal, defective muffler, no splash aprons/fenders and passing a school bus while signal is active.
