Inland Northwest Blood Center - Volunteers are needed to serve refreshments to and assist donors who may have adverse reactions after blood donations. Inland Northwest Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society - Inland Northwest Chapter is looking for volunteers to assist the staff in preparation for special events. Call (509) 482-2022 for more information.

Meals on Wheels Spokane - Volunteers are needed for Meals on Wheels Spokane to deliver hot, nutritious meals to seniors in need in the community. Meals are delivered Monday through Friday. Delivery time takes approximately one to two hours. To volunteer call Heidi at (509) 456-0397.

New Hope Resource Center - The New Hope Resource Center, 4211 E. Colbert Road in Colbert, is looking for a handyman to help the elderly with home repairs. Experience in carpentry, plumbing and electrical work would be helpful but is not necessary. Volunteers are needed occasionally. Volunteers are also needed to help seniors and disabled individuals clean their homes and provide companionship. Volunteers may be asked to drive seniors and disabled individuals to doctor appointments and to the grocery store. Transportation may be needed once a month or once a week. Community members can volunteer monthly, weekly or occasionally. For more information call (509) 467-2900.

Odyssey Youth Center - Volunteers are needed to cook meals for local youth who may not get a hot, wholesome meal at home or anywhere else. Meal preparation would be for 10-20 people in a house-size kitchen, Wednesdays through Fridays, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. For more information call (509) 325-3637 or visit www.odysseyyouth.org.

Salvation Army - The Salvation Army Food Bank is in need of volunteers to help sort and hand out food, along with helping clients’ shops and processing donations. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age, be able to lift up to 25 pounds, have good customer service skills and pass a criminal background check. SNAP - Volunteers, ages 25-55 or older, with basic carpentry/maintenance skills are needed to help staff with upkeep and special projects, including building shelving, repairing office furniture, cleaning/maintaining outside grounds and upkeep of lawns/parking/buildings, as needed. Spokane Valley Partners - Volunteers for an administrative assistant to the program director to maintain the volunteer database; six-month commitment, up to 10 hours per week; assist in the recruitment and hourly tracking of volunteers involved in seasonal programs, food bank and clothing bank. Women’s Hearth - Volunteers are needed to interact with women in an open and accepting manner through one-on-one conversation and small or large group activities. They will need to be available to play games, do arts and crafts, assist staff and help with general clean-up activities. Training will be provided.
