About 700 residents of Five Mile are without power this afternoon.
About 1,900 Avista customers lost power at 3:16 p.m. today for unknown reasons, a company spokeswoman said.
Power was quickly restored to about 1,200 of those customers.
Crews still are patrolling the power lines to try to discover the problem, spokeswoman Debbie Simock said.
